Thousands of IT professionals descended on Washington, D.C., July 31-August 2 for the annual CompTIA ChannelCon event, and BPO Media was there to bear witness. The focus this year was “The Business of Technology,” and to our eyes, it seems that a large portion of that business is now focused around cybersecurity.
In addition to an outstanding keynote address by General Stanley McChrystal, a luncheon address by Pete Peterson, president of Xerox Channels, and more than 40 educational sessions, more than 150 exhibitors and sponsors participated in the vendor fair.
“Our industry is in the midst of market-altering changes that are reshaping the landscape for technology solution builders, sellers and buyers,” said Kelly Ricker, CompTIA’s executive vice president for events and education. “The best and brightest in our industry come together to share their insights and viewpoints on how to make the right choices for their business and for their customers in this changing marketplace.”
The Vendor Fair
CompTIA is famous for their evening event and this year was definitely not a disappointment! Attendees were treated to a private soiree at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, sponsored by Datto. The hands-on experience included the VR transporter and 360-degree barrel rolls in the flight simulator – easing up on the martinis at that point was definitely advisable – yikes!
