REDWOOD CITY, Calif.– (BUSINESS WIRE) Paxata, the pioneer in self-service data preparation, today announced the early availability of the Paxata Spring 2019 release, the next major update to the company’s award-winning Adaptive Information Platform. The latest release includes Intelligent Automation; a new, smart algorithmic capability that enables business analysts to automate and operationalize complex data prep projects and flows with the click of a button, accelerating the delivery of analytical projects. Paxata Spring 2019 also extends ease of use for business consumers by enabling powerful zero-code, self-service transformations.
“Paxata’s new Intelligent Automation capability allows our business and data analysts to collaborate across multiple data prep projects and then automate them into a single flow with a simple click of a button,” said Jim Tyo, Chief Data Officer, Nationwide Insurance. “This is a critical capability, as it helps us encourage self-service and a collaborative development of complex data preparation projects, while making it easy to combine, run, maintain, and govern these workflows over time.”
In the past, self-service and IT-centric data integration have been two different, disconnected workstreams where business consumers create their own analytic sandboxes and IT develops and distributes corporate data assets. With Paxata Spring 2019, organizations can now accelerate their data prep and DataOps journey in a single, integrated platform. The new release empowers all contributors – such as data analysts, data engineers, and citizen data scientists – across various data initiatives by enabling crowdsourcing and collaboration of not only data profiling and data preparation tasks, but also cataloging, operationalizing and monitoring of workflows.
“Paxata’s new Intelligent Automation greatly improves our organization’s ability to accelerate the continuous delivery of our customer master and data quality projects,” said Byron Hernandez, Senior Data Analyst, Cox Automotive. “We can now automate any curated data preparation workflow with a single click, and Paxata intelligently discovers and links all the dependent projects together, which helps us save time and simplify our data operations. We constantly onboard new data from customers, and this new version’s extended Excel-like functions provides us with agility in scenarios that require data standardization across date, numeric and string fields.”
Highlights of Paxata’s Spring 2019 capabilities include:
- Intelligent Automation
- Algorithmic discovery of curated data assets and data prep projects.
- Sophisticated actions and triggers that automate flows based on a series of parameters or events.
- Monitoring and governance of data prep projects.
- Integration with other orchestration engines through REST APIs.
- Excel-like Self-Service Transformations
- String operations for trimming, padding, repeating or reversing field values.
- Search and replace, substitution, and regex functions.
- Date functions such as end of month, week of year, and working days.
- Numeric functions such as rounding up/down, square root, logarithm, and more.
“Traditionally, the legacy approach to automation of complex data preparation jobs was based on pre-defining a workflow that required drawing boxes and arrows that point from one data source to a transformation step to another,” said Jean-Luc Chatelain, a managing director and CTO of Accenture Applied Intelligence. “This has been a rigid process with very slow delivery and change management, which is compounded by its reliance on developers and technical staff. Paxata’s technology enables self-service data prep and eases the operationalization of data projects.”
As a pioneer of self-service data preparation, Paxata provides easy to use solutions powered by smart algorithms that allow business audiences to easily prepare, standardize, join, clean, and operationalize their data. Building upon its previous intelligent capabilities across data ingestion, data profiling, and data preparation, Paxata’s Intelligent Automation now offers built-in smart algorithms for operationalizing and automating workflows. The new capability takes a giant leap forward in enabling DataOps by abolishing the need for highly technical people to manually draw boxes and lines on the screen. Leveraging these smart algorithms, users can generate operational pipelines automatically and without the need to involve scarce IT resources. The result is a full-service smart system that brings data in, profiles it, and converts it into clean and contextual information assets, then automatically operationalizes the workflows – all within a single platform.
Paxata is showcasing this new capability at the Gartner Data and Analytics Summit on March 18 to 21 in booth #635. Additionally, on March 20th from 10:30-11:15 am EST Paxata will be co-presenting with its customers Nationwide, Cox Automotive and PharmMD in a session called “It’s All in the Prep: Strategies to Modernize Your Data Quality and Integration.”
Paxata will hold a live webcast on April 25, 2019 to go over its new release. Register here for the webcast or by visiting https://www.paxata.com/.
