McAfee Completes Light Point Security Acquisition
SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–McAfee announced it has completed its acquisition of Light Point Security, LLC, an award-winning pioneer of browser isolation. The Baltimore-based Light Point Security team is now part of McAfee and will begin integrating its innovative technology into the cloud-native McAfee Secure Web Gateway and McAfee’s MVISION Unified Cloud Edge (UCE) offerings.
Browser isolation protects users against web-based threats because malicious code is contained in an isolated environment and cannot reach the endpoint. Light Point Security’s browser isolation pixel mapping technology protects users without diminishing user experience. Gartner recognizes remote processing as “a core evasion-resilient security pattern,”1 and soon MVISION UCE customers will be able to apply a consistent threat protection policy across their entire network and SaaS applications.
“Closing this acquisition not only adds Light Point Security’s robust browser isolation capabilities to the McAfee product portfolio, but also adds their award-winning team,” said Ash Kulkarni, EVP and Chief Product Officer, Enterprise Business Group, McAfee. “Together with Light Point Security’s technology and team, we’ll continue to deliver solutions that enable our customers to protect themselves from cyber threats while accelerating their businesses and removing limitations.”
“Joining forces with McAfee will help accelerate its mission of protecting the world from cyber threats,” said Zuly Gonzalez, co-founder and CEO of Light Point Security. “With Gartner recognizing remote processing, we think adding our technology to McAfee products will enable a complete and simplified implementation of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Architecture.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
